Want to sell a car or company van from the Almelo area for export? Auto Export Almelo passes your vehicle on to its network of car companies abroad. If one of them makes an offer, we forward it to you and you decide. We do not buy cars ourselves: we act as the intermediary and, once a sale is agreed, arrange the export papers.

For you as the seller this is free and without obligation, whether you are an expat selling a car before moving on or a business replacing a few vans. The overview below shows which cars our partners are looking for and how the four steps work.

The cars our export partners are looking for

  • Mileage above 200,000 km
  • Diesel cars
  • Ex-lease cars
  • Company vans
  • Damaged cars
  • Built in 2008 or later

Free and without obligation: requesting an offer costs you nothing

How it works

  1. You send us the details and photos of your car, via the form or WhatsApp.
  2. We pass your car's details on to our network of car companies abroad. They may make an offer.
  3. If an offer comes in, we forward it to you. You decide whether to sell.
  4. Agreed? The export transfer can take place at our desk in Hengelo: you receive the vrijwaringsbewijs (proof of deregistration), the buyer receives the export documents and, if needed, export insurance and two white plates.

We act as an intermediary; the offer comes from a car company abroad. There is no guarantee of an offer.

Car with white export plates: selling your car for export via Auto Export Almelo
After the sale, the buyer can drive away on white export plates.

Who sells a car for export in Almelo?

The service is meant for vehicles on Dutch plates, because the sale ends with the vehicle being deregistered from the Dutch register for export. Typical sellers include:

  • a driver with a diesel that has passed 200,000 km;
  • an owner of a damaged car who would rather not have it repaired;
  • a company replacing its vans or selling ex-lease cars from its fleet.

In every case, the car must have been built in 2008 or later. Not sure whether yours qualifies? Call or message us; advice and help are free.

Details and photos for an offer on your export car

The more complete the information, the better the car companies can assess the vehicle. Please send:

  • registration number, make and model;
  • year of manufacture and current mileage;
  • fuel type;
  • condition and any damage;
  • photos of all sides, the interior, the odometer and any damage.

You can use WhatsApp or the form at the bottom of this page. The form has no upload field, so use the "Send photos and documents by WhatsApp" button: it opens a message that already contains your name and registration number if you entered them in the form. Email works too.

Several company vans or ex-lease cars at once

If your business is selling more than one vehicle, send the details per vehicle, ideally with a separate set of photos. We pass each vehicle on to our network and forward every offer that comes in, so you can decide vehicle by vehicle. If a sale goes ahead, you receive a separate vrijwaringsbewijs for each vehicle at the desk. That is handy for your records, as each one proves that the registration of that vehicle has ended.

An offer on your car: you decide

An offer comes from a car company abroad, not from us. We pass it on and you decide whether to accept it. Saying no costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We cannot promise that every vehicle will receive an offer.

Once you say yes: the export transfer and who gets which paper

In an export sale, the car is not registered in the foreign buyer's name in the Dutch register. The RDW advises that the buyer exports the vehicle in their own name. At our desk it works like this:

  1. You bring the registration card with its registration code (or the old paper parts) and hand in the yellow number plates.
  2. We deregister the vehicle for export in the buyer's name.
  3. You receive the vrijwaringsbewijs, after which your Dutch insurance, APK and road tax obligations for the vehicle end.
  4. The buyer receives the export documents in their name and, if they drive the car away, export insurance and two white export plates.

The buyer pays for these papers. If the buyer cannot come to the Netherlands, the RDW allows a contact person in the Netherlands to arrange the export. More on our pages about vehicle export documents and export registration plates. For a buyer outside the EU, an EX-A customs export document may be needed as well.

The checklist below shows what must be at the desk; part of it comes from you and part from the buyer.

Checklist

  • Valid passport, ID card or driving licence of the person the export is registered to
  • The Dutch registration card (kentekencard) with its registration code (tenaamstellingscode), or the old paper parts (part 1B and the transfer certificate)
  • The Dutch yellow number plates (one plate for a motorcycle, scooter, moped, caravan or trailer)
  • The current mileage
  • The full foreign address of the buyer
  • For insurance and plates: start date, destination and route, plus details of the policyholder and the driver

What sellers in Almelo ask about car export offers

Do you buy my car yourselves?

No. We act as an intermediary: we pass your car on to car companies abroad and forward any offer to you. If you accept, we arrange the export papers at our desk in Hengelo.

Will I always get an offer?

We cannot promise that. The offer comes from a car company abroad, not from us. If an offer comes in, we forward it and you decide whether to sell.

What does it cost me as the seller?

Nothing. Requesting an offer is free and without obligation. The buyer pays for the export papers, and for export insurance and white plates if they drive the car away.

My car was built before 2008. Can I still offer it?

Our export partners are looking for vehicles built in 2008 or later, so this service is not intended for older vehicles.

Can our company offer several vans at once?

Yes. For each vehicle, send the registration number, make and model, year, mileage, fuel type, condition and any damage, with photos. We pass each one on and forward every offer that comes in.
